The Red Marker had the opportunity to work with Nanyang Technological University’s College of Engineering to create a 360 tour that takes you around the cutting-edge academic facilities available to their undergraduates. With eight different colleges throughout the entire NTU campus, the College of Engineering is known for its internationally recognised education and research. The college comprises six different schools focusing on various interdisciplinary studies. The six schools include: Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Each school is equipped with state-of-the-art labs, research centres and student spaces for holistic learning and a real work environment.
Using our experience and technical expertise, The Red Marker worked together with the College of Engineering to shoot each facility and create an interactive and user-friendly 360 virtual tour for prospective students to access online.
Before entering the 360 tour, a welcome splash screen introduces the College of Engineering with a clickable button to explore further. The professional and clean layout of the splash screen is also designed using the university’s colour scheme to maintain branding consistency. The splash screen also includes an aerial video of the school campus as an introduction to the facilities within.
The high-quality shots of the 360 tour capture every corner of the room, allowing users to navigate around without losing clarity of the image. Users can also zoom into specific areas of the facility for a closer look. Each shot includes student talents to mimic real-life learning for a realistic simulation of day-to-day seminars.
As users first enter the explore page of the virtual tour, they are greeted with a static bird’s eye view of the entire NTU campus with six hotspots to navigate into the six different schools. The clickable hotspots zoom into the specific schools the user wants to explore, allowing for an alternative navigation option when toggling in between the facilities.
The 360 tour comes with a collapsible side menu that features every facility in all six schools. The facilities are categorised neatly by school using a drop-down menu for users to navigate between schools without reverting to the home page. Every facility also includes a text box to summarise the important features of the space.
