Step 1: Go to the APIs & Services page on Google Cloud Platform, and then agree with the Terms of Service.
Step 2: You can now click on the “Create Project” and start creating a project.
Step 3: Google will help suggest a project name. However, you can change the project name as per your preference. Once you are done selecting a project name, you can click on the “Create” button. This will help you create the project.
Step 4: The next step is to go to the “Library” option to add Maps JavaScript API to the newly created project.
Step 5: In the updated window, you can search for the Maps JavaScript API and click on the Maps JavaScript API.
Step 6: Now, you are ready to activate the API by clicking the “Enable” button.
Step 7: Once you have done that, you can click on “Credentials” to start creating an API key.
Step 8: Next, click on the option “Create Credentials.” You will see different options, click on “API key” to select the API key type.
Step 9: You can now begin the process of restricting the API key by choosing the “Restrict key” option.
Step 10: You will now be asked to enter the name of your key. After you have done that, you need to restrict the API key to HTTP referrers by adding the link: https://360.theredmarker.com/* (do not forget to include asterisks). Then, click the “Save” button to finish the process.
Step 11: You are now ready to link a Credit Card to your project.
Step 12: Once you have filled in the credentials, you can click the “Billing” option on the left side of the page.
Step 13: Now select the “Link a billing account option” and then click on “Create Billing Account.”
Step 14: You will again have to accept the “Terms of Service” and then click on the “Agree and Continue” button.
Step 15: You will now be asked to fill in a form with your address and credit card information. After you have filled in all the details, you can select the “Start My Free Trial” option.
Step 16: Now, just jump over the “Cloud Platform” by clicking on the side.
Step 17: After that, go back to your Credentials by choosing the “APIs & Services” option and then clicking on “Credentials.”
Step 18: The last step is to copy the API key for future reference.
